Job Overview
We are seeking an LNA/CNA/HHA licensed home health aide to work from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays to provide care for an elderly man.
Duties
- Assist with morning care including showering, using the restroom, getting dressed and doing light exercise.
- Monitor and document vital signs, changes in health status, and any significant observations related to patient care.
- Provide dementia care, employing strategies that promote memory retention and comfort.
About the Patient
80 year old man, 5'9" currently weighs about 165 lbs. He has difficulty walking and experiencing freezing of gait. He sometimes uses a walker but often uses a wheelchair. He has moderate dementia.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, assisted living, or long-term care is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management is beneficial.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications in hospice care or specialized training in working with individuals with disabilities are a plus.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and the ability to recognize changes in health status.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing quality care to others.
