Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support our Estate Administration department. Experience not required as we prefer to train new candidates in our systems and processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong research skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the ability to work independently within our systems and processes once trained. This position provides valuable experience in a professional law office environment, supporting attorneys and clients alike.

Duties

Prepare and review legal documents relative to the administration of estates with attention to accuracy and detail.
Manage case files using document management systems; ensure proper filing and organization of all case-related materials.
Conduct document review and proofreading to ensure compliance with legal standards and client requirements.
Support attorneys with meeting preparation, including drafting reports and summarizing case information.
Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining case management databases like PCLaw.
Facilitate communication with clients via phone with professional phone etiquette; assist in interviewing clients or witnesses as needed.
Support project management initiatives within the firm to ensure timely completion of legal tasks and filings.
Prepare and file documents with courts or government agencies in accordance with procedural rules.

Skills

Ability to learn how to use client and case management software.
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; ability to proofread meticulously.
Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to handle administrative responsibilities efficiently including data entry, filing, document management, and clerical tasks.
Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette; capable of interviewing clients or witnesses effectively.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
