As a Design Manager, you will report to the Co-founder and will work at the intersection of craft and leadership, solving complex UI/UX puzzles, and mentoring a high-performing team.
Based in our Austin office, you will be the strategic bridge between our leadership team and our distributed design team in APAC and Europe. You won’t just help manage the roadmap; you will design it. This is a visible, high-impact role with significant room to grow as we expand our design organisation globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for high-impact product areas, from early concepts and wireframes to polished prototypes.
- Drive product growth by identifying friction points and designing solutions that improve onboarding, adoption, and retention.
- Maintain and evolve the Figma design system to ensure scalability and consistency across teams.
- Standardize design-to-engineering handoff processes, including spec documentation, workflows, and QA checklists.
- Run efficient design rituals including check-ins, critiques, stand-ups—focused on problem-solving and delivering outcomes, not just status updates.
- Manage and mentor our design team across APAC, Europe, and North America, partnering closely with the APAC Design Lead on capability building and performance development.
- Champion design excellence through structured critiques, feedback loops, and a culture of ownership within a high-growth startup
Ideal Profile
- 7+ years of B2B Product Design experience, with at least 2 years of leadership or mentoring experience, ideally managing or guiding designers across remote / distributed teams.
- Experience designing products within Construction Tech, Logistics, Scheduling, Loading Docks, Facilities Management, or similar SaaS domains.
- Demonstrated ability to drive core business metrics such as onboarding success, product adoption, retention, and reducing friction, through thoughtful user experience design.
- Advanced expertise in Figma (design systems, variables, auto-layout, component libraries) and familiarity with Miro for collaboration, Maze for usability testing, and Jira for cross-functional workflow.
- Comfortable using analytics to back design decisions, while maintaining a strong qualitative understanding of user needs.
- Able to work effectively in a global, cross-time-zone environment, collaborating with stakeholders and teams across the US, Australia, Indonesia, and Europe.
- Thrives in high-autonomy, high-growth international teams, and embraces the builder mindset required to operate in a rapidly scaling product environment.
What’s on Offer?
- Exciting opportunity to shape the future of construction tech in the US, designing solutions that impact real workflows on job sites every day
- High-impact ownership, working directly with the co-founder to drive strategic roll-outs
- A clear pathway to broader leadership, with the potential to scale into a Head of Design role as our global product footprint expands
