The Bakery at Applecrest has long been known for its impressive array of made-from-scratch offerings including savory hearth loaves, sweet breads, muffins, cookies, cakes, cider donuts and fresh-baked pies. Our farm's continually broadening bakery program now calls for IMMEDIATE new additions to our creative and talented team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Currently seeking Bakery Production Assistants w/ solid weekday and weekend availability. The Assistants will gradually assume mastery for all components of production. Of chief concern, will be helping to maintain the daily steady supply of fresh baked goods for retail sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Bakery Production Assistant will participate in every aspect of production, including: scaling, mixing, shaping, baking-off, packaging, shelf-stocking and ensuring that work and retail display areas are always kept safe and clean.
QUALIFICATIONS: S(he) must absolutely enjoy working with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, be of vigorous good health, able to lift up to 50 pounds and endure extended hours on feet. Though not required, the ideal candidate will have some level of baking and/or culinary experience. Worry not, Applecrest WILL TRAIN! At the core, we are seeking folks who are passionate about food, who are eager to hone their skills and, most importantly, seek a work environment where they can positively contribute to a fun, friendly and close-knit team.
HOURS & COMPENSATION: Full-time and part-time positions are available immediately for weekday and weekend shifts. Candidates should be prepared to work early AM "baker hours" with shifts beginning as early as 5:30a. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the applicant's previous experience.
