Position Overview
BACS is seeking a caring, energetic, and student-centered
Lower Elementary Teacher (Grades K–2). The ideal candidate understands the importance of early childhood development and is passionate about building foundational skills in literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
This educator will create a joyful and structured classroom environment while incorporating
hands-on, play-based, and experiential learning opportunities, including connections to our agriculture program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction in early literacy, mathematics, and foundational content areas using a competency-based approach
- Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and positive behavior
- Use developmentally appropriate, hands-on, and play-based learning strategies
- Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners
- Integrate outdoor and agriculture-based experiences into daily learning
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback to support growth toward mastery
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school-wide initiatives
- Build strong relationships with students and maintain regular communication with families
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification (Early Childhood or Elementary preferred) OR 3 years of classroom experience
- Experience working with primary-aged students (K–2 preferred)
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of early literacy and numeracy development
- Ability to create a nurturing, engaging, and structured classroom environment
- Willingness to embrace competency-based and experiential learning practices
