Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic, inspiring, and knowledgeable Hip Hop Instructor to join our faculty. This teacher should be comfortable working with a wide range of ages and experience levels—from young dancers just discovering rhythm and movement to more advanced students ready to be challenged technically and artistically.
We are looking for someone who can bring strong classroom leadership, age-appropriate choreography, musicality, creativity, and positive energy to our studio community.
Responsibilities
Instruction & Lesson Planning
- Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with studio curriculum and student development goals
- Teach hip hop technique, musicality, freestyle foundations, performance quality, and choreography
- Adapt instruction for various ages, skill levels, and learning styles
- Build classes that are challenging, fun, and structured
Classroom Environment
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and motivating classroom atmosphere
- Ensure student safety during classes, rehearsals, and performances
- Foster confidence, teamwork, and respect among dancers
- Provide constructive feedback that supports growth and self-esteem
Performance Preparation
- Choreograph routines for recitals, showcases, competitions, and special events as assigned
- Prepare students for performances through organized rehearsals and clear expectations
- Collaborate with staff regarding costumes, music edits, and staging needs
Student Growth & Communication
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback when appropriate
- Encourage commitment, effort, and personal growth in each dancer
- Communicate professionally with studio leadership and families as needed
- Support overall studio culture and community events
Skills
- Proven experience teaching hip hop dance and/or professional performance experience
- Strong technical foundation in hip hop styles and current trends
- Ability to teach age-appropriate choreography for children, teens, and advanced dancers
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Positive, dependable, and team-oriented
- Passion for mentoring dancers and creating an encouraging environment
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
