GPI Construction is a growing 50+ year old General Contracting/Construction Management firm located in West Chesterfield, NH, we are seeking a qualified Senior Project Manager and Estimator. The majority of our sales volume is commercial and from repeat clients, our geographic coverage area is approximately 70-mile radius of Chesterfield.
We perform a mix of Public/Private construction management and hard bid projects with a focus on commercial construction and renovation. Our projects range from small renovations up to $5 Million.
Responsibilities
- Overall project ownership from conception to closeout.
- Assist with day-to-day company operations and scheduling.
- Perform plan reviews.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meeting, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Write Scopes of Work and Prepare Subcontract Agreement.
- Taking lead with Estimating, Budgeting and Bidding of projects.
- Reviewing RFP, Project Specifications and Drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Preparing estimates by calculating complete take-off of Scope of Work
- Preparing requests for subcontractor quotations and analysis of subcontractor quotes.
- Preparing conceptual estimates from preliminary design documents;
- Providing assistance to field operations with Change Order estimates and pricing;
- Providing assistance with pre-construction activities.
- Planning, execution and close-out of construction projects.
- Communicate effectively with other key staff, contractors and subcontractors.
- Processing submittals and RFI’s.
- Communicate effectively with Owner, coordinate meetings, and prepare Mtg. Minutes.
- Draft meeting agendas for all preconstruction meetings.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Ensure that all work is planning consistently with the contract documents and will meet or exceed client expectations.
- Attend periodic meetings including owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, etc.
- Estimate and execute small projects and service calls.
Ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 10 years of commercial construction experience
- 2- or 4-year degree in engineering or construction management a plus.
- Ability to multi-task on a high level.
- General knowledge of all aspects of construction.
- Possess judgement to negotiate the critical balance between budget and the construction process.
- Have excellent problem solving skills to manage details necessary for a successful project.
- High attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to read architectural & MEP prints and perform quantity take-offs.
- Excellent written verbal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products including MS project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle a variety of duties independently.
- Proficiency with Sage/Timberline and Procore Construction management software a plus.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Salary – $140K - $165K commensurate with Experience and Ability
