Waterjet Operator
Join our manufacturing team as a Waterjet Operator and play a key role in producing high-quality parts and components for our customers. In this position, you will operate and maintain waterjet cutting equipment, ensuring materials are processed accurately, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate waterjet cutting equipment to produce parts according to production requirements and specifications.
- Load, position, and unload steel plates and other materials using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Verify material type, thickness, and job requirements prior to processing.
- Monitor machine operation and cutting quality throughout production runs.
- Remove finished parts from cut sheets and sort, label, and stage parts for downstream operations or shipment.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning tanks, checking water levels, inspecting nozzles, replacing consumables, and maintaining abrasive supplies.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of completed parts to ensure compliance with customer and company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including removal of scrap material and housekeeping around the machine.
- Assist with inventory management of raw materials, abrasives, and waterjet consumables.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Communicate production issues, machine concerns, and material shortages to supervisors and team members.
- Follow all company safety policies and required PPE standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, or machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, shop drawings, and production documents.
- Basic understanding of measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Ability to safely handle heavy materials and work in an industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials and parts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance or equipment.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery, steel materials, water, and abrasive cutting systems.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
