Lamie’s Inn and The Old Salt Restaurant are looking for a dependable, hands-on person to join our property maintenance team.
This position supports our historic inn, busy restaurant and tavern, commercial kitchen, function rooms, outdoor dining areas, and property grounds. It may be a great fit for an experienced maintenance person, tradesperson, contractor, or semi-retired professional who is a jack-of-all-trades and enjoys solving different problems each day.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing general repairs throughout the inn and restaurant
- Responding to hotel guest-room maintenance needs
- Handling restaurant, tavern, kitchen, and function-room repairs
- Basic carpentry, painting, drywall patching, caulking, and finish work
- Repairing doors, locks, furniture, shelving, fixtures, and hardware
- Addressing minor plumbing and electrical issues within your skill level
- Troubleshooting toilets, sinks, faucets, lighting, appliances, and heating and cooling units
- Performing routine preventive maintenance and property walk-throughs
- Helping maintain outdoor dining areas, walkways, building exterior, and grounds
- Assisting with restaurant equipment and kitchen-related maintenance when appropriate
- Identifying when a licensed contractor or outside vendor is needed
- Helping coordinate and oversee outside repair companies
- Keeping tools, parts, filters, and maintenance supplies organized
- Assisting with seasonal projects and general property improvements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience with building maintenance, construction, property care, or a skilled trade
- Is comfortable handling a wide variety of everyday repairs
- Can work independently and follow through on projects
- Knows what they can repair and when it is time to call a specialist
- Is dependable, organized, and takes pride in their work
- Is comfortable working around hotel guests, restaurant customers, and employees
- Can safely use basic tools and ladders and lift approximately 50 pounds
- Has reliable transportation
Hotel or restaurant maintenance experience is helpful, but it is not required.
Schedule
This position may be full-time or part-time, generally 24 to 40 hours per week, depending on experience and availability. Some flexibility may be needed for occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or urgent property issues.
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay based on experience, skills, and availability.
