We are seeking a motivated and friendly Front Desk Receptionist with no prior experience required to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate patient flow, and assist with medical scheduling tasks.
- Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and documentation review to ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain medical records by filing documents securely and managing electronic health records (EHR) with attention to clinical confidentiality policies.
- Answer incoming calls professionally, direct inquiries appropriately, and handle basic phone communication tasks.
- Support clerical duties such as data entry (including 10 key typing), filing, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk organized.
- Assist with health insurance knowledge including Medicare procedures, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and documentation review when needed.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Experience
This position is open to candidates without prior medical office experience or formal training in healthcare administration. However, the following skills are highly valued:
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to learn medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and basic medical billing procedures quickly.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Previous clerical or office experience in a healthcare or dental clinic setting is beneficial but not required.
