TAX SERVICES MANAGER
Compensation: $100K–$130K+ base salary (depending on experience) + Bonus
Work Model: Primarily remote, with ~1 day per week in Portsmouth, NH or Dedham, MA office

POSITION OVERVIEW
You'll lead the design, implementation, and growth of the firm’s tax advisory function. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a growing practice, elevate client experience, and play a key role in shaping the firm’s future. As a strategic leader, you will not only manage tax preparation and compliance but also serve as a trusted advisor, integrating tax strategy with broader wealth management initiatives. You will collaborate with senior leadership to expand service offerings, develop internal capabilities, and ensure long-term scalability of the tax practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide executive leadership in building and directing a comprehensive tax services division.
- Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and multi-state tax returns for individuals, trusts, and estates.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to high-net-worth clients, integrating tax planning into broader financial goals.
- Develop innovative tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize compliance.
- Lead and mentor staff; instill a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Partner with firm leadership to align tax strategy with business growth objectives.
- Represent the firm during IRS or state audits and correspondence.
- Establish scalable systems, processes, and best practices to drive operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, EA, or equivalent credential strongly preferred).
- 3+ years of progressive experience in tax preparation, planning, and advisory; wealth management or financial services experience preferred.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, manage, and inspire teams.
- Strong technical expertise in federal and multi-state tax law, including Massachusetts and Michigan.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (ProSeries a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
