The Activities Coordinator at King Pine Ski Area is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all winter events and activities, including alpine races, family programs, and special promotions. This seasonal role ensures smooth event operations and supports an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will possess creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities Include:
Event & Activity Operations
- Oversee all aspects of event setup, on-site execution, and teardown, including tents, signage, equipment, and decorations.
- Manage timelines, coordinate with vendors, and ensure smooth execution of events.
- Greet and assist guests, provide directions, and answer questions during events.
- Supervise staff during daily activities, races, and promotions.
On-Hill & Seasonal Activities
- Lead setup and maintenance of alpine racecourses, including timing equipment and results.
- Support competitions and other on-mountain events with course preparation and safety oversight.
- Facilitate mascot appearances and family-friendly guest engagement programs.
- Encourage participation in seasonal activities such as games, entertainment, and children’s programming.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary contact for guest feedback and special requests, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly.
- Collaborate with departments such as Ski School, Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Lodging to coordinate events.
- Assist with promotional communications and marketing of upcoming activities and events.
- Regularly meet with management to review event performance, guest satisfaction, and staff needs.
Administrative & Leadership
- Develop and manage schedules for events and staff coverage.
- Monitor inventory and manage event/activity supplies.
- Provide wrap-ups, reporting, and evaluations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications Include:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- High school diploma or GED required; 2–3 years of related experience preferred.
- Intermediate or higher ski/snowboard ability (required for on-hill event support).
- Excellent communication and guest service skills; friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to lead, delegate, and motivate a team effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work unsupervised when needed.
- Flexible and adaptable — comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all winter weather conditions.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, squat, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Outdoor-focused: Significant time spent outside in snow and variable winter weather.
- Flexible hours: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Seasonal: This role runs through the winter ski season, with potential opportunities in future seasons.
