Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and attentive Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, manage reservations, and ensure smooth seating operations. This role is essential in delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the overall flow of the restaurant or hospitality environment. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required; excellent communication and guest relations skills are a must. The Host will serve as the first point of contact for guests, making their experience memorable from arrival to departure.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, providing a positive first impression
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, answering any initial questions about the menu or restaurant policies
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area, ensuring it is welcoming and presentable at all times
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers regarding guest seating and special requests
- Handle phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette, providing information about wait times or reservation details
- Assist in managing guest flow during busy periods to minimize wait times and maximize guest satisfaction
- Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience
Requirements
- Previous host/host experience or background in food service preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or hotel guest services is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good phone etiquette and guest relations skills
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
