We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Toolmaker to join a leading Company located in the Newport, NH surrounding area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Able to support production through the use of manual equipment and independently solve problems.
- Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metal-working dies, cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and machine hand tools.
- Depending on campus location, toolmakers may create precision molds to support manufacturing using vertical milling centers, EDM centers, precision grinders, and 3-D printers.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- Proficiency in the operation of manual mills, lathes and grinders.
- Proficiency in Geometry, Trigonometry, basic Algebra, fractions and decimals.
- Ability to select and use appropriate cutting tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to create work-holding fixtures and gauges for manufacturing and assembly.
- Experience with basic machining principles, including tooling types, speeds & feeds, threading, surface finish, and tool holding (i.e. collets, chucks).
- Familiarity with CAD software.??
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, test indicators, and a Cadillac gauge.
- An understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics in fixtures.
- Depending on campus location, a working knowledge of Heat Treat and materials.
- Ability to use Prototrak/advanced conversational controllers, program mill, MasterCam, or CAM software.
- Self-motivated to work independently or with associates on the line to find solutions to problems.
- Detail & quality oriented.
- Communicate detailed or important information to others accurately.
- Must be capable of prioritizing and time management while working under pressure with a minimal amount of supervision.
