Position Title: Resource Specialist
Reports To: Director of Operations

Providing resources to assist individuals and families in fostering healthy life choices, improving access to employment related services, creating a support system, and establishing attainable personal goals that will lead to financial self-reliance, creating an appropriate level of confidence for self-advocacy and ultimately breaking the cycle of poverty.
Job Summary:
The Resource Specialist shall assist the Director of Operations by providing services and supporting programs related to education, training, employment, and community connectivity. These efforts will assist customers of the Manchester Community Resource Center (MCRCnh) in reaching their goals of attaining economic self-sufficiency.
The incumbent shall assume responsibility for the following program components:
Employment Related Support Services:
· Will provide one-on-one guidance during employment/career exploration.
· Will provide academic counseling.
· Will assist in creating and improving resumes.
· Will assist with employer connections.
· Will make appropriate referrals to community services.
· Will assist with the application process for federal, state, and local assistance.
· Will act as liaison and advocate between referring community services and MCRCnh programs.
· Will facilitate group job search activities as requested.
Administrative Support Services:
- Will cover the front desk and answer phones.
- Will provide clerical support such as photocopying, faxing, phone calls, scanning, shredding, correspondence, etc. for the agency staff and customers.
- Will supervise and support program volunteers.
- Will establish and maintain effective records management systems.
- Will collect and maintain appropriate data and provide required written reports.
Other Responsibilities:
- Will present a professional and positive image as a representative of MCRCnh.
- Will adhere to the confidentiality policy set forth by MCRCnh.
- Will participate in professional development activities and trainings as requested.
- Will be responsible for other duties as deemed necessary by the CEO and/or the DOO.
Minimum Qualifications: The candidate shall have a degree in the Human Services or related field. Equivalent life and work experience shall be accepted in lieu of academic requirements. Prior experience in customer services, employment related services, adult academic services, and administrative management is preferred. Should be familiar with area service providers and the local labor market. Must have computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office. Must possess an understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of the low-income population and have the ability to work with a diverse population. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
Wages and Fringe Benefits:
