Sheet Metal Journeyman (HVAC Ductwork)
$28 – $38 per hour
Hourly rate based on experience and certifications. Overtime and performance bonus potential.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll install rectangular, round, and oval duct systems on ground-up commercial, healthcare, education, and multifamily projects — working alongside foremen who will value your experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Fabricate and install rectangular, round, and oval ductwork per project drawings
- Lay out, cut, and form sheet metal — galvanized, stainless, and aluminum
- Install fittings, transitions, plenums, and equipment connections
- Install RGDs, fire/smoke dampers, access doors, and flex connections
- Seal ductwork to SMACNA Seal Class A/B standards
- Install external wrap insulation
- Hang and support ductwork using trapeze and individual hangers
- Read blueprints and coordinate routing with other trades in ceiling spaces
- Operate hand seamers, shears, brakes, and TDC/TDF tooling
- Mentor and guide apprentices on-the-job
REQUIRED
- 4+ years commercial sheet metal experience or completed apprenticeship
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency with hand tools, power shears, and forming equipment
NICE TO HAVE
- OSHA 10 (we'll train if you don't have it)
- Aerial lift / scissor lift certification
- TDC/TDF tooling experience
- Multi-trade coordination experience in tight ceiling spaces
- Blueprint reading ability
- Knowledge of SMACNA fabrication and sealing standards
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift and carry 50+ lbs.
- Prolonged standing, walking, squatting, reaching
- Overhead work and climbing stairs
- Work at varying heights on ladders and aerial lifts
- Pass a pre-employment physical
- Perform in all indoor and outdoor climates
