As an insurance verification and authorization specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in the revenue cycle—ensuring accurate and timely verifications and authorization of insurance benefits. Your knack for organization, love for policy, patient care, and commitment to precision will directly impact our operational success and client satisfaction.
Summary: Performs insurance verification and authorization services for multiple accounts effectively and efficiently. This role works directly under the Verification and Authorization Team Lead.
Primary Duties:
- Assist the verification and authorization department to maintain all assigned account(s) by working directly with the client and the client’s patients.
- Learn and become proficient in all versions of software utilized by assigned accounts
- Efficiently complete insurance verifications according to client procedures
- Efficiently complete eligibility inquisitions
- Efficiently complete authorizations, authorization follow-up, and authorization appeals
- Documentation of all work performed in multiple versions of patient billing software
- Answer routine incoming calls
- Understand and comply with all policies and procedures in the Company handbook
Secondary Duties:
- Sending Patient statements
- Attends Continuing Education Seminars either in person or via webinar per Management’s request
- Attend and represent the Company at national and local trade shows per Upper Management’s request
