We are seeking a passionate and talented Pastry Chef and to join our Gluten free and allergen friendly team. As a key member of our kitchen, you will craft beautiful, delicious baked goods and desserts while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your pastry expertise in a lively, fast-paced environment where creativity and precision are celebrated. This role is mostly wholesale and we serve many large accounts so attention to detail is necessary and a vested interest in allergen friendly baking is a plus but not necessary. There is opportunity for growth for the right baker as we are looking actively for a partner to join Peace of Mind Baking Co. which has been in business 20 yrs and is still growing!
Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts with precision and flair
- Execute cake decorating techniques to create visually stunning confections that delight customers
- Manage food production and preparation processes efficiently to meet daily demand
- Package baked goods attractively for retail display or catering orders, maintaining presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in accordance with food safety regulations
- Handle food ingredients responsibly, ensuring proper storage, handling, and rotation
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service and fulfill special orders or catering requests
Requirements
- Proven pastry experience with a strong portfolio of baked goods and desserts
- Skilled in cake decorating, food preparation, and food handling techniques
- Knowledge of baking principles, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment operation
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper hygiene practices in a commercial setting
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills, food industry knowledge, and experience in food production or catering preferred
- Previous restaurant or bakery experience is highly advantageous; strong customer service skills are essential
