SCOPE OF POSITION: The Civil Administrative Assistant performs complex and specialized work of an administrative nature for the Civil Process and Civil Warrants Division of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is a public safety entity comprised of several divisions. The Civil Administrative Assistant specializes in administrative processes for Civil Process and Civil Warrants Division through record keeping, reviewing validity/completeness/payment for services, preparing invoices, processing payments, resolving billing issues, assuring efficient flow of legal paperwork, creating/maintaining various databases & filing systems, performing clerical duties such as data entry, filing, & collating photocopying, disseminating correspondences to internal staff, and ensuring basic facility inventories are stocked. This position also assists with training, scheduling, and orientating volunteers and new staff. The Civil Administrative Assistant also interacts with court, legal, law enforcement, & the general public, and further, provides frontline screening requirements to all persons seeking entry into the Sheriff’s Office.
