The State of New Hampshire, Fish and Game Department has a seasonal vacancy for a Hatchery LABORER -April through August.
Summary:
Performs unskilled and semi-skilled laboring tasks at Regional Fish Hatchery and assists with fish distribution.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS : Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: 8thgrade education
License/Certification : Valid driver’s license
Other Requirements: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the agency

Responsibilities:
DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC):
Cleans incubators, tanks, pools and troughs and assists in sterilizing those areas.
Weighs and sorts fish into lots for stocking ponds and streams.
Prepares fish food according to established specifications; dispenses food to the fish.
Assists in transferring fish from hatchery to hatchery, hatchery to pond or river/stream.
Assists in the maintenance of hatchery buildings and grounds equipment, including painting and cleaning hatchery pools.
Mows lawns, cuts brush and shrubbery, and shovels snow.
Conducts student and civic group tours of the facility.
