Role: General Manager

About the Role
We are a growing landscaping and arborist services company seeking a General Manager to take full ownership of operations, team performance, and financial outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for running the business day-to-day while driving efficiency, accountability, and growth.
You are not managing from a desk—you are in the field, with the team, and in the numbers.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Own day-to-day operations across landscaping, tree services, and field crews
- Drive scheduling, routing, and job execution to maximize efficiency and profitability
- Ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to a high standard
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable crew leaders and field teams
- Build structure, enforce standards, and drive performance across the organization
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing team members
Financial Ownership
- Own P&L performance including revenue, gross margin, and labor efficiency
- Monitor job costing, crew productivity, and equipment utilization
- Identify and execute cost control and margin improvement opportunities
Customer & Sales Oversight
- Oversee estimating, bidding, and client relationships
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Support growth through improved conversion, pricing discipline, and upsells
Systems & Process
- Implement and improve operational systems, workflows, and KPIs
- Build reporting cadence and accountability structures
- Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the business
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading operations in landscaping, arboriculture, construction, or similar field-service business
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage field teams and drive accountability
- Experience owning or directly impacting P&L performance
- Comfortable operating both in the field and at a strategic level
- Strong problem-solving ability and bias toward action
Preferred
- Experience scaling a service-based business
- Arborist or tree service experience
- Military leadership background
Compensation & Benefits
- Up to $150,000 base salary
