Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for the assembly of heat exchanger and related units and subassemblies. Assembles fabricated parts at their respective floor stations using bills of material, drawings, engineering specifications, and quality control documents. Responsible for completing assemblies to meet tolerances and product specifications. May be responsible for identifying and repairing non-conforming or out of tolerance components.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Must be capable of performing all non-specialized and some specialized mechanical assembly operations of sub-assemblies and package assembly including associated in-process quality checks and tests, plus finishing work and final packaging.
· Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents. Takes responsibility for quality and work content performed in the applicable operation by signing off on the appropriate documentation prior to indexing to the next step in the process.
· Must exhibit/demonstrate the ability to use correct tooling, fixturing, and equipment to perform work tasks to engineering specifications. Must ensure that all tools used in performing job duties are within calibration, as stated on calibration sticker. Where discrepancies arise, immediate notification of a supervisor occurs.
· Must be able to function in a flexible team environment. Must be willing and capable of flexing into other assembly jobs as required.
· Assists engineers with tasks related to development, construction, and evaluation of prototypes, new products, operations, and/or procedures.
· Maintains production logs, inventories, documentation, outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress.
· Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
· Requires a high degree of responsibility for safety to self, to others, for equipment, and materials. Must maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and follow all safety rules and procedures. Identify safety concerns and drive for successful resolution.
· Support other areas of the facility including material handling, receiving, shipping, production and development testing.
· Performs all work in accordance with established safety protocols.
· Must be willing to work to get the job done under overtime hours inclusive of Saturdays and Sundays.
· Capable of operating basic material handling equipment.
· Valid fork truck certification a plus.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
