Part-time Dance Teacher
Position Overview
Hampstead Academy, a progressive, inquiry-driven Pre-K–8 private school, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Dance Teacher to lead engaging dance and movement classes for students in small class settings. This part-time role is ideal for an educator who loves to inspire creativity, self-expression, and confidence through the art of dance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach age-appropriate dance and movement lessons for Pre-K through 8th grade.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
- Develop routines and activities aligned with developmental levels and school events (e.g., performances).
- Collaborate with teachers/leadership to integrate movement and the arts across the curriculum.
- Communicate with families and staff about student progress and performances.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching dance to children (preferably Pre-K–8).
- Strong classroom management and organization.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners and small, multi-age groups.
- Enthusiastic, creative, and flexible teaching style.
- Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Education, or related field preferred (not required).
Schedule & Compensation
- One day per week, 6 hours per day
- September–June following the NH public school calendar
- $30–$45/hour, based on experience
