Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Plumber to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in plumbing and construction projects, providing a foundation for a career in the trades. The Apprentice Plumber will assist experienced plumbers with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on commercial and residential sites. This role is ideal for individuals interested in developing skills in plumbing, construction, and mechanical systems within a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems according to project specifications and blueprints
- Use hand tools, power tools, and pipe threading equipment safely and effectively
- Read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand project requirements
- Perform basic carpentry, remodeling, and construction tasks as needed on-site
- Support welding and fabrication activities related to plumbing systems
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing components and identify potential issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety standards are met
- Follow all safety protocols on construction sites, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately
- Learn to troubleshoot mechanical problems related to plumbing, HVAC, or other building systems
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, or HVAC systems preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, pipe threading, and schematics is a plus
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and mechanical knowledge is advantageous
- Prior construction site experience or handyman skills are beneficial
- Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and material estimations
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety compliance
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual tasks throughout the workday
- Valid driver’s license preferred for travel between job sites
