New Hampshire's first statewide online school, the Virtual Learning Academy Charter School, is currently accepting applications for an Advisor/School Counselor. This full-time position will work under the Director of Academic and Student Affairs to promote and nurture the education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study; monitoring, assisting with academic efforts; providing a safe environment conducive to learning; keeping parents informed.Job Responsibilities: Respond to full time students, and guardians regarding the full time program including those pertaining to specific course offerings, curriculum, credits, etc.Be the Advisor for a caseload of full time students offering services in the academic, career and social-emotional domains.Monitor full time student academic progress [credits] and attendance.Work with students, guardians, and instructors to help support students who may be having difficulty with course material and/or pace.Act as an advisor whose primary goal is to help every student become college, career, and citizenship ready.Build positive relationships with students and parents / guardians, and guide students through the development of a future plan.Support advisory development.(As needed) consult with the Admissions team to determine if a student meets criteria for full-time admission.Attend required meetings.Attend required trainings and work to be proficient in required technologyOther duties as assigned.
