Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant role based in Henniker, NH. The Strength and Conditioning GA supports the design and implementation of evidence-based strength and conditioning programs for varsity and club sport student-athletes under the supervision of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Daily responsibilities may include leading team and small-group training sessions, demonstrating proper lifting techniques, monitoring workouts, and tracking individual progress. The GA assists with performance testing, data collection, and ongoing program adjustments to promote athletic development, injury prevention, and safe return-to-play. Additional duties may involve facility setup and maintenance, equipment organization, collaboration with sport coaches and athletic training staff, and participation in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities, while making progress toward an approved graduate degree.
Qualifications
- Foundational strength and conditioning competencies, including knowledge of resistance training, speed and agility development, conditioning methods, and basic sports nutrition principles.
- Ability to teach and demonstrate proper exercise technique, supervise training groups, and enforce safety and facility standards in a collegiate weight room environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills to coordinate with coaches, athletic training staff, and student-athletes while balancing graduate coursework.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment that supports student-athletes of diverse backgrounds and competitive levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or a related field; current or planned enrollment in a New England College graduate program.
- Certified or pursuing certification (e.g., CSCS, SCCC, or equivalent) and CPR/AED and First Aid credentials, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe
