Summary
We are seeking a Tax Specialist to join our dynamic team at CheckmateHCM. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with day-to-day tax operations including the daily payment of taxes to agencies and the quarterly filing of tax returns, ect.
Responsibilities
- o Ensuring daily tax files are created and paid
o Ensuring quarterly/annual returns are filed and paid
o Daily tax sign off
o Configuration questions specific to tax settings in UKG
o Investigating tax issues and notices
o Overseeing and troubleshooting quarterly recons
o Managing the completion of tax amendments each quarter
o Overseeing the printing & shipping of W2s & 1099s
o Monitoring and updating the process of the distribution of the quarterly tax packets
o Staying apprised of changes to payroll & tax laws
o Tax registrations for clients
o Reconciling client’s funds on a quarterly basis
o QC of new clients
Requirements
· Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent required
· FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is required
· 1-2 years experience in the payroll field; payroll processing experience is a plus
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook
· Strong attention to detail with an analytical, research oriented mind set
· Maturity in dealing with sensitive & confidential information
· Proficient mathematical skills & precise data entry skills
· Ability to work effectively within a team & independently
· Ability to meet deadlines & maintain an effective time schedule
· Excellent organizational, planning, & prioritization skills

Pay: $42,175.71 - $52,792.26 per year
