Brewster Academy seeks a creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented Digital Media Coordinator to help tell the story of our community through compelling visual and digital content. This full-time position plays a central role in advancing Brewster’s brand, enrollment, and community engagement efforts by capturing and sharing the moments that define life on campus. This role includes day-to-day ownership of Brewster’s digital media execution and contributes to the ongoing evolution of the school’s digital storytelling strategy.
The Digital Media Coordinator will produce high-quality photography, video, and short-form content for use across Brewster’s digital platforms and print publications, while actively supporting the implementation of the school’s marketing and communications strategy. This role is ideal for a storyteller who thrives in a dynamic school environment and is excited to work closely with students, faculty, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Create persuasive and engaging visual content, including photography, video, and short-form social media assets, for integrated use across digital and selected print needs as assigned
- Capture, edit, and optimize video content for distribution on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and the school website
- Support social media content execution (asset creation, scheduling support, performance awareness) in coordination with the Marketing & Communications team. Utilize KPI’s to measure and report performance as appropriate to members of the Brewster community
- Write captions, short scripts, and short-form web/social copy to accompany visual storytelling that communicates Brewster’s mission, values, and student experience to prospective families, alumni, and donors
- Partner with enrollment, advancement, and communications colleagues to execute digital campaigns aligned with institutional priorities
- Contribute ideas and recommendations for improving digital storytelling, content workflows, and platform effectiveness
- Provide limited design support primarily related to photo/video assets (resizing, light layout support), in coordination with designated design resources
- Help ensure consistent application of Brewster’s brand across all digital and visual media
- Oversee the organization, maintenance, and effective use of Brewster’s digital media and asset libraries
- Collaborate as an active member of the Marketing and Communications Team
- Work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends to capture campus life and events
- Build strong relationships across campus by immersing oneself in the daily life of the school
- Collaborate with and mentor student interns and tour guides in the creation of digital media

- Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental goals.
- This position is not a designated media spokesperson; external media inquiries are handled by school leadership/communications leadership.
Hours
This is a full-time, ten-month position with time off from mid-June to mid-August.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Strong photography skills and experience with image editing
- Working knowledge of short-form video creation and editing
- Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn
- Basic design and layout experience using tools such as Photoshop and InDesign
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Initiative, creativity, and a willingness to learn and adapt
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with social media analytics and performance metrics
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems
- Understanding of journalism or storytelling best practices
- Experience working in an educational, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization
- Interest in mentoring students in creative and media-related work
